Hard bounces (mailboxes that no longer exist), addresses on domains with no mail server, role accounts like info@ and sales@ if you choose, disposable domains, and syntax errors. Catch-all domains are flagged rather than removed, because they may deliver.
How much does it cost to clean 100,000 emails? expand_more
One credit per address, so 100,000 credits. On the Monthly plan that is a third of your 300,000 credits for $9.99, which works out to about $3.33 for the whole list. On the Lifetime plan it comes out of the 2,000,000 credit pool. Most services charge $300 to $700 for the same list.

Uploads are processed in parallel against each domain's mail server, and most lists of that size finish within the hour. Very large lists at strict domains take longer because those servers rate-limit lookups, and we slow down rather than get blocked.
Will cleaning stop my emails going to spam? expand_more
It removes the single biggest cause, which is bouncing. Inbox providers start throttling senders above roughly 2% bounces. Cleaning does not fix missing authentication or a bad reputation on your sending domain, so check SPF, DKIM and DMARC and your blacklist status as well.
How often should I clean a list? expand_more
Before every campaign for cold lists, because 20 to 30% of B2B addresses change every year. Monthly for a newsletter you send regularly. Once, at import, for any list you inherit.
