Key takeaways
- check_circleEvery service here does the same core job: an SMTP check on each address, then a file split into deliverable, undeliverable, catch-all and risky. Pick on price for your list size, then on the extras you actually need.
- check_circleCleaning 100,000 addresses costs roughly $10 with Mailsfinder on the $19.99 Growth plan, roughly $135 with DeBounce, roughly $149 with MillionVerifier, roughly $199 with EmailListVerify, and roughly $400 to $800 with Bouncer, Emailable and Kickbox at their published pack rates.
- check_circleMillionVerifier and DeBounce sell credits that never expire, which suits a team that cleans a big list twice a year. Subscription vendors such as Clearout and Mailsfinder suit a team that cleans something every week.
- check_circleCatch-all addresses are flagged, not removed, by every service here. What differs is whether you get a score for them: ZeroBounce and Emailable do, the rest return a status and leave the call to you.
- check_circleFree tiers are for testing the service, not for cleaning a list. The largest recurring allowance is Mailsfinder at 100 a day; most others give 100 once.
- check_circleOnly Mailsfinder and Clearout can also find missing addresses from a name and company in the same account, which matters when the list you inherited has names without emails.
- check_circleEvery vendor accepts CSV. Mailsfinder also takes XLSX and a Google Sheet, and most of the subscription vendors offer ESP integrations so the cleaning runs where the list lives.
- check_circleNeverBounce is not on this page. Its pricing page refuses automated access, and we do not print prices we could not read.
What an email list cleaning service actually does
A list cleaning service, also sold as email verification, bulk verification or list scrubbing, takes a file of email addresses and checks whether each one can receive mail. The check has four steps: syntax, so malformed rows are dropped; DNS, so domains with no mail server are marked dead; an SMTP handshake with the mail server, which asks whether the mailbox exists without sending anything; and classification, which turns the server's answer into a status. You get the file back with a column added, and usually a second file per status so the deliverable segment can go straight into a campaign.
The reason to do it is bounce rate. Mailbox providers watch the share of your mail that bounces, and once it climbs past roughly 2 percent they start filtering the rest of your mail regardless of content. A list that has not been cleaned in a year typically carries 20 to 30 percent dead addresses, because people change jobs, and one send to that list can put a domain into the spam folder for weeks. Cleaning removes the bounces before they happen.
What cleaning does not do is fix the other causes of poor delivery. Missing SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, a sending domain with a bad history, and content that trips spam filters all survive a clean list. It also cannot confirm a mailbox on a catch-all domain, where the server says yes to everything, which is why every service on this page flags those rather than removing them.
The services below are similar in what they return and very different in what they charge. The cost for 100,000 addresses spans more than 200x between the cheapest and the most expensive published rate, and that spread, not the feature list, is what most teams should decide on.
The tools at a glance
How we evaluated these tools
Every price below came from the vendor's own pricing page or from our research data verified against it in September 2026. Bouncer and DeBounce were read live on 22 September. NeverBounce was dropped after its pricing page refused automated access three times; we would rather show nine verified vendors than ten with a guess in the table.
Price for 100,000 addresses
The one number every buyer needs and few pricing pages state directly. We calculated it from each vendor's published pack or plan that covers that volume.
Credits: expiring or not
Pay-as-you-go credits that never expire suit occasional big cleans. Monthly credits suit continuous hygiene. We say which model each vendor uses, because it changes the real cost.
What gets removed and what gets flagged
Dead mailboxes, dead domains, disposable addresses and role accounts are removed or marked by everyone. Catch-all handling and scoring are where vendors differ.
Upload formats and integrations
CSV is universal. XLSX, Google Sheets and ESP integrations decide whether cleaning is a monthly chore or an automatic step.
Three pricing models, and which one your list fits
The vendors describe themselves as verification services. Their pricing pages describe three different businesses, and the one you match decides what you pay.
Pay-as-you-go credit packs
Buy a pack, use it whenever, credits never expire. MillionVerifier, DeBounce, EmailListVerify, Kickbox and Bouncer lead with this model. Cheapest per address at large pack sizes.
Monthly subscriptions
A credit allowance every month, usually with rollover. Mailsfinder at 75,000 credits for $9.99 and Clearout from 3,000 credits for $19.50 are the two here. Cheapest per address when you clean continuously.
Verification bundled with a deliverability suite
ZeroBounce and Emailable sell the clean alongside scoring, monitoring and inbox tests. Highest per-address cost, most tooling around it.
Every tool, side by side
Rank is a table position, not a promotional order.

Pricing read from each vendor's pricing page or verified research data, September 2026. The 100,000 column uses the published pack or plan that covers that volume. Ratings shown only where our research data carries a verified figure and review count. Cost per unit uses each vendor's best published rate, which is usually a larger pack or plan than the entry price in the column beside it, so the two do not divide into each other.
Cost calculator
What cleaning a list actually costs, service by service
Figures use each vendor's published rate at the pack or plan the volume falls into, so a million-address clean is priced on the million pack rather than the entry rate. Mailsfinder is priced on the Starter plan, 75,000 credits for $9.99, with additional months added when the job exceeds it.

The tools, reviewed
Every tool gets the same card: what it is, four features, three pros, three cons, and an honest read. Same format for ours as for everyone else's.
Mailsfinder
Subscription, finder in the same balance
Our own service, so read the cons and check the numbers against the pricing page. The cleaning job is the standard one: upload a CSV, XLSX or Google Sheet, every row gets a live SMTP check, and the file comes back split into deliverable, undeliverable, catch-all and risky. What is different is the balance it draws from: 75,000 credits a month for $9.99, which makes a 100,000 address clean roughly $10, and the same credits find missing addresses from a name and domain at 3 credits each. Integrations cover Google Sheets, HubSpot, Zapier, Make and n8n, so the clean can run on a schedule where the list lives.
Key features
- checkFour-way result file deliverable, undeliverable, catch-all and risky, each downloadable on its own.
- checkCSV, XLSX and Google Sheets upload with the other columns returned untouched.
- checkFinder from the same balance fills rows that have a name and company but no address, 3 credits per hit.
- checkScheduled cleaning through integrations Sheets, HubSpot, Zapier, Make, n8n and the API.
Pros
- addAround $10 to clean 100,000 addresses
- addFinds missing addresses from the same credits
- addFree 100 a day, no card
Cons
- removeCatch-all flagged, no score attached
- removeNewer platform with a thin review record
- removeNo blocklist or inbox monitoring
The honest read
The cheapest clean on the page by a wide margin and the only one that also fills gaps in the list. If you want a score on the catch-all segment or monitoring around the clean, ZeroBounce and Emailable do that and charge for it.
ZeroBounce
Cleaning with a deliverability suite
The most reviewed service on this page, 1,361 on G2 at 4.7, and the one with the most tooling around the clean: an AI score for addresses the handshake cannot settle, activity data, blocklist monitoring, inbox placement tests and an email finder, bundled on the ZeroBounce ONE subscription from $99 a month for 10,000 credits. Pay-as-you-go starts at $39 for 2,000 credits, around $19.50 per 1,000, which is the highest entry rate here. Above 100,000 addresses the pay-as-you-go tiers bring that down, and on the annual subscription the 10,000-credit tier works out around $7.90 per 1,000.
Key features
- checkAI scoring for catch-all and unknown a deliverability score where the SMTP check cannot confirm.
- checkDetailed sub-statuses role-based, disposable, toxic, abuse and more on every row.
- checkZeroBounce ONE bundle adds warmup seeds, inbox tests, blocklist monitors and finder credits.
- checkIntegrations with most ESPs so cleaning runs inside the list tool.
Pros
- addScoring for the addresses a clean cannot settle
- addLargest verified review base here
- addMonitoring and inbox tests in the same account
Cons
- removeHighest entry rate, around $19.50 per 1,000
- removeScoring is a separate paid product
- removeBundle only pays off if you use the extras
The honest read
Buy it for the suite, not for the clean. As a pure list cleaning service it is the most expensive line in the calculator at every volume; as one vendor for cleaning, scoring and monitoring it is the most complete.
Emailable
Pay as you go, scored results
Emailable prices in packs from $38 for 5,000 up to $2,100 for a million, with a monthly subscription that takes 15 percent off each tier, and returns a 0 to 100 score with every address alongside the state. Credits never expire and subscription credits roll over. A 100,000 address clean is $420 pay as you go or $357 a month on subscription, which places it in the upper half of this page on price and in the top few on the quality of the result file.
Key features
- checkScore on every row a 0 to 100 number next to the state, useful for ranking catch-alls.
- checkCredits never expire and subscription credits roll over.
- checkBulk upload and API with a batch endpoint for large files.
- check15 percent off on subscription for steady monthly volumes.
Pros
- addScore attached to every address
- addCredits never expire, subscription rolls over
- addClear pricing table with no minimum
Cons
- remove$420 to clean 100,000 pay as you go
- removeFree tier is 250 once
- removeNo finder for missing addresses
The honest read
A high-quality result file at a mid-to-high price. Worth it when the score matters to how you treat catch-alls; not the place to send a million-row list on a budget.
Kickbox
Pay as you go, flat rate
Kickbox publishes the simplest price list here: $0.01 per verification up to 2,500, $0.008 from 5,000 through 100,000, then $0.006, $0.005 and $0.004 at 250,000, 500,000 and a million. No subscription, and credits are valid for a year. A 100,000 address clean is $800. The result file includes a Sendex quality score per address, and the bulk uploader returns a downloadable file with every status. It is the vendor for a team that wants the bill to be obvious and the list to be modest.
Key features
- checkFlat published per-check pricing from $0.01 to $0.004 by pack size.
- checkSendex score a per-address quality score to rank the deliverable segment.
- checkBulk upload with a downloadable result and a batch API for the same job.
- checkNo subscription packs only, valid for one year.
Pros
- addPricing you can read in ten seconds
- addNo subscription or minimum
- addQuality score on every address
Cons
- remove$800 to clean 100,000 addresses
- removeCredits expire after a year
- removeFree tier is 100 once
The honest read
Ideal for tens of thousands of addresses a year and a finance team that likes predictable line items. At a million rows the pack price is $4,000, which is where the never-expiring-credit vendors below pull far ahead.
Bouncer
Pay as you go with a toxicity check
Read live on 22 September 2026: Bouncer's packs run $8 for 1,000, $35 for 5,000, $60 for 10,000, $250 for 50,000, $400 for 100,000, $750 for 250,000, $1,250 for 500,000 and $2,000 for a million, so $0.008 per address at entry and $0.002 at the top. The clean returns a distinct catch-all status and a toxicity flag for addresses tied to breaches and spam traps. A separate deliverability kit sells inbox placement tests from $25 a month, priced per test email rather than per verification.
Key features
- checkDistinct catch-all and role statuses in the result file, not folded into unknown.
- checkToxicity check flags addresses seen in breaches, complaints and spam traps.
- checkPacks to a million at $0.002 one of the lower ceilings on this page.
- checkDeliverability kit inbox placement tests sold separately by the month.
Pros
- addCatch-all returned as its own status
- addToxicity data included in the clean
- addVolume rate of $0.002 at a million
Cons
- remove$400 to clean 100,000 addresses
- removeFree tier is 100 once
- removeInbox testing is a separate subscription
The honest read
A thoughtful result file and sensible volume pricing. At 100,000 addresses it costs about three times MillionVerifier and a hundred times Mailsfinder, so it earns its place on data quality rather than price.
Clearout
Subscription with rollover and a finder
Clearout is a subscription with rollover: Starter is $19.50 a month for 3,000 credits, $16 on annual billing, and the Pro tiers step up to 100,000 credits at $112 a month and a million at $800 a month on annual terms. Credits never expire. The account includes an email finder and a long list of CRM and ESP integrations, so it competes with Mailsfinder on shape more than any other vendor here, at a higher per-address rate. The free tier is 100 credits for the life of the account.
Key features
- checkMonthly credits that roll over and never expire.
- checkFinder in the same account for lists with names but no addresses.
- checkCRM and ESP integrations so cleaning runs inside the list tool.
- checkAnnual billing at 20 percent off the rate used in the cost column.
Pros
- addRollover credits on every plan
- addFinder and cleaner in one account
- addAround $1.12 per 1,000 on the annual 100K tier
Cons
- removeMonthly billing is $19.50 for 3,000
- removeFree tier is 100 for the account lifetime
- removeTier table is dense
The honest read
The closest thing on this page to Mailsfinder's model, with more integrations and a much higher price per address. Good on annual billing for a team that cleans steadily and wants the finder.
MillionVerifier
Never-expiring packs, bulk first
Built for the one big clean: 10,000 credits for $39, 100,000 for $149, a million for $449 and 50 million for $8,499, none of which expire. An automated plan verifies up to 10,000 addresses a day for $15 a month if the list arrives continuously. The upload returns the standard four-way file, and the service has no finder and no deliverability suite, which is why the price is where it is. 28 reviews on G2 at 4.3 is a small base, but a consistent one.
Key features
- checkNever-expiring credit packs from $39 for 10,000 to $449 for a million.
- checkAutomated daily plans from $15 a month for 10,000 addresses a day.
- checkFour-way result file deliverable, undeliverable, catch-all, unknown.
- checkBulk API for teams that would rather not upload by hand.
Pros
- add$149 to clean 100,000, credits never expire
- add$449 for a million addresses
- addSimple, verification-only product
Cons
- removeNo recurring free tier
- removeNo finder or deliverability tooling
- removeSmall review base of 28 on G2
The honest read
The best pack price on the page for a large occasional clean and a sensible daily plan for continuous feeds. Nothing else in the account, which is the point.
EmailListVerify
Pay as you go, wide pack range
EmailListVerify runs the widest pack range here: $5 for 1,000, $27 for 10,000, $186 for 100,000, $659 for a million and $3,620 for ten million, none expiring. Monthly subscriptions take 10 percent off and start at $16 for 5,000. The entry rate is mid-pack, but from 100,000 upward it is one of the cheaper published prices, and $0.00045 per address at ten million is the lowest pack ceiling on the page apart from DeBounce's advertised rate.
Key features
- checkPacks from 1,000 to 10 million priced on a single table, never expiring.
- checkMonthly subscription at 10 percent off from $16 for 5,000 credits.
- checkBulk upload and API with the standard status file.
- checkVolume rate to $0.00045 at ten million credits.
Pros
- add$199 to clean 100,000, credits never expire
- add$699 for a million addresses
- addSubscription option at 10 percent off
Cons
- removeEntry rate around $7 per 1,000
- removeFree tier is 100 once
- removeNo finder or scoring
The honest read
Sits between MillionVerifier and the pay-as-you-go trio on price and does the same job. Pick it when the million-row pack price matters and you do not need a score on the catch-alls.
DeBounce
Pay as you go, lowest advertised ceiling
Read live on 22 September 2026 from a slider that starts at 5,000 credits: 100,000 credits cost $135, 500,000 cost $450 and a million cost $750, with the page advertising from $0.00045 per check at five million. Credits never expire, the API is included without separate credits, and validation is one credit per address, with a catch-all deep check at ten credits and data enrichment at twenty. Smaller packs exist below 100,000; the slider would not settle on them for us, so the 100,000 pack is the entry figure we can stand behind.
Key features
- checkCredits that never expire from the 100,000 pack at $135.
- checkAPI included no separate credits for programmatic use.
- checkCatch-all deep validation a separate check at ten credits per address.
- checkFree deduplication duplicates removed before they cost a credit.
Pros
- add$135 to clean 100,000, credits never expire
- add$750 for a million addresses
- addAPI included on the same credits
Cons
- removeSmallest packs not verifiable on our read
- removeCatch-all deep check costs ten credits
- removeFree tier is 100 once
The honest read
The lowest published rate above 100,000 rows apart from Mailsfinder's subscription, and a clean price model. Confirm the small-pack price on their slider before budgeting a list under 100,000.
Which one fits your situation
Find the row that describes the list on your desk.
| If this is you | Start here |
|---|---|
| You clean something every week | A subscription with rollover beats packs. Mailsfinder gives 75,000 credits a month for $9.99, and Clearout from 3,000 for $19.50, with credits that carry over. |
| You have one big list to clean twice a year | Buy a pack that never expires. MillionVerifier at $149 for 100,000, DeBounce at $135 for 100,000 or EmailListVerify at $186 for 100,000, and use the remainder next time. |
| Your list has names but half the emails are missing | You need a finder as well as a cleaner. Mailsfinder fills the gaps at 3 credits per found address from the same balance, and Clearout has a finder in the same account. |
| You want a score for the catch-all addresses, not just a flag | ZeroBounce sells AI scoring for addresses the handshake cannot confirm, and Emailable returns a 0 to 100 score with every result. |
| You want the cleaning to run inside your ESP or CRM | Mailsfinder connects to Google Sheets, HubSpot, Zapier, Make and n8n, ZeroBounce and Clearout ship integrations for most major ESPs. |
| You need a bill with no subscription line on it | Kickbox, Bouncer and Emailable all sell pay-as-you-go packs with no recurring charge, from $5 to $38 for the smallest. |
Five ways list cleaning goes wrong
All of these come from real support threads. None are the vendor's fault.
Cleaning once and calling it done
Around a quarter of B2B addresses stop working every year. A list cleaned in January carries thousands of new bounces by June. Clean before every large send, or put it on a monthly schedule.
Deleting the catch-all segment
Catch-all domains include a large share of companies on Google Workspace. Deleting them throws away real customers. Send to them more carefully, or score them, but do not drop them.
Paying pack prices for a weekly job
Packs are cheap per address only at large sizes. A team cleaning 20,000 addresses a week on 10,000 credit packs pays several times what a subscription with rollover would cost.
Expecting the clean to fix the spam folder
Cleaning removes bounces. It does not fix missing authentication, a burned sending domain or spammy content. If mail already lands in spam, check SPF, DKIM, DMARC and blacklist status as well.
Uploading the list without the other columns
Every service returns the file with a status column added. Upload the full sheet, not a column of addresses, so the deliverable segment comes back ready to import rather than needing a merge.
Category picks

What you actually pay
The same nine services priced at their entry point and per 1,000 addresses at that entry point. The calculator above does the same at 10,000, 100,000 and a million using the pack each volume falls into, which is the number to budget on.
| Tool | Free plan | Entry price | What the entry price buys | Cost per 1,000, best plan |
